About This Manual

This manual is a step-by-step guide that will acquaint you with the system’s

features and benefits. It defines the components and their functions, describes

their operation, and acquaints you with normal and emergency procedures. The

Security System can use either the Alpha Display or Fixed Word Display

Consoles to perform and display system functions. Unless stated otherwise, all

commands and procedures apply equally to both Consoles. For clarity, only the

Alpha console is shown. Referto the table of fixed word display messages found

in the FUNCTIONS OFTHE CONSOLE sectionforsystem displays used with the

fixed word console. Refer to the GLOSSARY at the back of this manual for

,definitions ofterms used throughout.
